Profile of Howard Johnson Jr., President/C.E.O.

 

Objective:  As leader of IWN, my primary goal is to produce the highest quality of leaders, within the 21st Century, in the areas of business and community development, supporting the building of communities working together in the creation of a "poverty free world, where all children can thrive"

 My Major Accomplishments

2006-present - Co-founder and President/C.E.O of International Wellness Network, Inc., a Minnesota based 501c3 non profit organization, whose mission is to serve as co-creator, creating a poverty free world, where all children can thrive.  Primary directives of the organization is to raise up "socially conscious entrepreneurs/entertainers" and community organizers within, but not limited to communities of color. 

Educator

-Founding Member and Head Teacher of Lyrical Minded - San Francisco based organization whose focus is on outreach to youth in arts education.  This program has been a collaborative effort of the San Francisco Arts Education Program and the San Francisco United School District.

-2006 Starring role in International Motion Picture "Pig Hunt" shown throughout Europe and at selected theaters within the United States and Xanada.  DVDs go on sale August 6, 2010.

2007-08 Youth Director Educator-Conscious Youth Media Crew (CYMC), San Francisco, CA

Trained young actors, ages 16-19 to perform in a feature film, written and produced by the youth attending CYMC.  Participants were taught to perform on stage and film through rehearsing monollgues, engaging in scene study and learning specific audition techniques.  Selected actors who went on to perform in student produced films 

2006-08 - Downtown High School, Hollywood, CA

Responsible for developing teaching programs, instructing students at the Downtown High School in the art and science of film making.  Additional skills taught were screenwriting, film production, and acting for the camera.  A total of 10 films were produced through my involvement with the program. 

2006-07 - Teacher/Educator - Midnight Shakespeare - San Francisco, California

Instructed young actors, ages 16-24 completing their G.E.D. requirements in alternative learning techniques that emphasized imagination, intellectual dialogue and confidence building.  Students in a production of a Midsummer Night's Dream for family, friends, and faculty at the end of the 10 week program.

Head Teacher 2001-2007

Bay Area Shakespeare Camp - San Francisco Shakespeare Festival

Taught young actors ages 8-13, the art and skill of reading and performing the works of William Shakespeare on behalf of the San Francisco Shakespeare Festival.  Taught the "Discovering Shakespeare Technique" in which students lern scansion, sonnets, plays and the history of William Shakespeare.  Additional courses included:  Voice and Movement, and Production and Design.

Presently serve as President/CEO of International Wellness Network, Inc. with responsibilities of 1) visioning, 2) goal setting, 3) development of short and long range planning and fundraising for the organization.
